MLT Youth Division Expands!

STAGE 2 TEEN THEATRE GROUP

WHAT IS STAGE 2?  Stage 2 is a new addition to the MLT Youth Theater Division.  After observing that large numbers of teens between the ages of 13 and 19 seemed to be "falling through the cracks" for inclusion in the offerings at MLT (few parts in the children's plays and very few parts in the adult plays), we determined to develop a program tailored for their needs. 

WHAT DOES STAGE 2 OFFER?  Stage 2 offers teens between the ages of 13 and 19 not only performance experience, but educational and production experience as well.  Anyone who has ever been involved with the theatre knows that there is a whole lot more that goes into a production than just what the audience sees.  Stage 2 members are educated not only in acting/drama but in the technical aspects of the theatre as well.  This includes set design & construction; lighting; sound; properties; production management; stage management; costume design and wardrobe. 

In addition to the production aspects, Stage 2 members are learning about theatre history, music and choreaography and are heavily involved in their own marketing and development such as publicity, creative development, membership, fundraising, etc. 

WHAT PROJECTS ARE CURRENTLY UNDERWAY FOR STAGE 2?  Currently there are 57 members involved with Stage 2.  The members and staff of are very excited to announce their "premier performance" for the community.  On August 13, 14, & 15th, 2010, Stage 2 Teen Theatre Group will present:
